shelters for refugees
In the first week of the war, we were able to find private accommodation for over 100 refugees in the Stuttgart area. In a first call that we launched, 250 private accommodations were identified. Unfortunately, not all accommodations are usable. We are only using whole apartments at the moment, since most of the refugees are families with several people. If you have an apartment that you would like to make available to refugees, you are welcome to get in touch. In the meantime, the state also pays housing benefit, so you can also create financial compensation for the loss of rent!
If you have entire apartments, houses or complexes that you can make available, contact us directly !
Otherwise the following information is important:
Contact details (first name, last name, address, e-mail, mobile phone/telephone number)
How many rooms do you have available?
How many people can you accommodate?
Briefly describe how and where you can accommodate the people (is it individual guest rooms, is it a separate vacant apartment/house etc.)
I can definitely accommodate the Ukrainian people for at least x weeks….
Which languages do you speak?

Here are a few important things:
When picking up the fleeing persons, it must be ensured that only persons with a Ukrainian passport are allowed to enter Germany without any further challenges. Please note the requirements of the German federal government.
Contacting local authority :
Registration of persons at the Citizens Registration Office.
Currently, Ukrainian citizens receive immediate residence status and work permits. This means that you can immediately apply for help from SGB II and also for health insurance to cover the costs.
A possible job must first be approved by the responsible employment agency before the contract is signed.
The assumption of rental costs is also approved by the social welfare office - the approval of the responsible social welfare office is also required here before the tenancy agreement is signed.
Compulsory schooling: In Germany, schooling is also compulsory for Ukrainian citizens. According to the current status, there is a transition period of a few weeks. Our advice: Get in touch with schools in the vicinity relatively quickly. With a school certificate, further help in the form of school fees can be applied for at the social welfare office.
More tips:
Online translation apps are very helpful, and you can also select Cyrillic as an additional language for your cell phone keyboard.
Internet is very important from the moment you arrive, so that contact with the family is guaranteed.
Some only have what they wear on their bodies. Organize clothes and shoes if needed.
When people arrive at the accommodation in Germany, it is important that the following things are available in sufficient quantities:
beds
towels
Hygiene products
Food
Clothing if necessary
